Knowing the Time of Visitation
Luke 19:41-44 “And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes. For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side, And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.”
In 70AD the city of Jerusalem was burned with fire. Similarly we are told that at the end of the world there will be a “great city” called “Babylon” and that they will “burn her with fire”. (Rev 17:18, 5, 16)
We are told by historians, that before the destruction of Jerusalem took place, that a sign was given to the early Christians to flee out of the midst of the city. The nation had filled up its cup, they had declared “we have no king but Caesar” and as Daniel put it regarding the city “for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate,” (Dan 9:27).
There came a point where Israel’s fate as a nation was determined. Not only was Jesus weeping, sighing and crying over the city and the abominations that were done in her midst, (Luke 19:41, Eze 9:4) but many of the prophets of Israel had wept over the apostasy of Israel and the terrible desolations by which their sins were to be visited.
Jesus said “If thou hadst known”, but what was wrong? We are told that they “knew not the time of thy visitation” (Luke 19:41-44) Jesus gave us many warnings. He told us: “So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.” (Matt 24:33)
Matthew 24:38-39 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
We are told in Matthew about the “wicked servant”that his Lord will “come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,” (Matt 24:50). The wicked servant most certainly will not know the day or hour of his visitation until the destruction comes and takes them all away. The faithful servant will see the signs of his coming.
Rev 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Seeing the Sign of His Coming
Christ saw in Jerusalem the retributive judgments that would take place at the end of the world.
In Matthew 23:38 Jesus said to the Pharisee’s “Behold your house is left desolate”. Their hearts were truly desolate, the spirit was removed, just as much as the Shekinah glory was not in the Most Holy Place of the earthly sanctuary. Jesus continued on with his disciples and they pointed at the massive stones of the temple, which looked indestructible to their eyes and he said:
Mat 24:2 … See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
After pointing out the destruction of the temple that was to come the disciple asked “what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” (Matt 24:3)
Jesus looking at the temple, knowing the destruction that was to come on Jerusalem pointed out not only the sign to leave Judea, but the sign to leave the cities at the end of the world. After describing many things that would happen, he pointed them down to the end of the world and told them that there was a sign that they would “see” and likened it to what would happen to Jerusalem.
Mat 24:14, 15 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Was this sign that would come at the end of the world something important for God’s people to understand? Yes, absolutely. In the very next verse we are told what to do when we see this sign.
Matthew 24:16-21 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house… For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Shortly after seeing this “sign” there would be “great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning” or in other words “a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:” (Dan 12:1)
In Matthew 24, Jesus mentions the time of trouble that Daniel spoke about, but he also told us about the “sign” or the “abomination of desolation” that was “spoken of by Daniel”.
If we see this sign we are to get out of the cities. If we don’t see the sign, we will be like those who “knew not until the flood came, and took them all away;” (Matt 24:39) We could be like those who were lost in the general destruction of Jerusalem when the city was burned with fire. In 70AD it is said that every Christian saw the sign when the city was to be burned.
“And the Saviour warned His followers: “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains.” Matthew 24:15, 16; Luke 21:20, 21. When the idolatrous standards of the Romans should be set up in the holy ground, which extended some furlongs outside the city walls, then the followers of Christ were to find safety in flight. When the warning sign should be seen, those who would escape must make no delay.” (Great Controversy Page 25)
At the feast of Tabernacles in 66AD Cestius lead the Romans to surround the city of Jerusalem. In a surprising upset the Romans were driven away, however the sign was given to the Christians. The “idolatrous standard” is the flag of the Romans. An aquila, or eagle, was a prominent symbol used in ancient Rome, especially as the standard of a Roman legion. The flag of the Roman army. (See Picture on right)
“The promised sign had been given to the waiting Christians, and now an opportunity was offered for all who would, to obey the Saviour’s warning…At the time of the siege, the Jews were assembled at Jerusalem to keep the Feast of Tabernacles,” (.ibid page 30, 31)
The time of escape was during this feast, though the destruction of the temple was 3.5 years later at the feast of Passover. The bible tells us that “ The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: andthere is no new thing under the sun” (Ecc 1:9)
The Church and the State
In Revelation 12 we read of a woman and a beast, a red (scarlet) beast.
Revelation 12:1-3 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Her children are those who have the “testimony of Jesus”. We are told in Revelation 19:10 that “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy”. In order to be the remnant of her seed, we are to receive “the spirit of prophecy”, or in other words, they must be “born of the spirit” (John 3:6) We are no longer born of flesh and blood, but born again, children of this woman, members of the church, “for by one spirit are we all baptized into one body”(1 Cor 12:13) “And he is the head of the body, the church:” (Col 1:18)
Regarding this woman, we are told her name:
Gal 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.
Why is it important to understand who Jerusalem is in this last day? Because the closing events all surround her. In fact we are told in Luke that the “sign of his coming” will be fulfilled “when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then knowthat the desolation thereof is nigh.” (Luke 21:20)
KNOW and UNDERSTAND when you see this Jesus said. We will see how the armies will surround the church or city shortly.
Hebrews 12:22-23 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem…and church of the firstborn…
Jerusalem above, the heavenly church of the firstborn. Christ’s church. (Col 1:15) This is the sign Jesus told us we should “know therefore and understand” (Matt 24:15)
It is not the Jerusalem which is below, which “is in bondage with her children” (Gal 4:25) that will fulfill the last day prophecies. (See Revelation 12) The Jerusalem which is above, heavenly Jerusalem, the woman with her feet on the moon, is the church. And this is the Jerusalem that is to be the object of the last day prophecies. (Revelation 12) There are “armies” that will “make war” with her and her seed or children. The armies of Satan. (Rev 12:17)
In Revelation 12 we also see a red dragon with seven heads and ten horns. In the primary application of the dragon, we see that it is “the great dragon…that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world:” (Rev 12:9) Satan and his angels or army will definitely surround the city Jerusalem to make war with her. (Rev 12:17) But beasts in prophecy also represent kingdoms and there is a sure sign that we will see. In Daniel we read that “The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom” (Dan 7:23)
Ten Horns – The Kings of the Earth
The secondary application has to do with the kingdoms of the earth “the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings,” (Rev 17:12) And this dragon has ten horns. We are told in Revelation 12 the following:
Revelation 12:4-5 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
The dragon was definitely “wroth with the woman and went to make war with the remnant of her seed” (Rev 12:17) and that seed includes or “is Christ.” (Gal 3:16). When Christ was born Herod was “exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under” (Matt 2:16) The great dragon was wroth with her seed. Using the Roman armies to surround and make war with his church, Christ being the head of it.
The dragon was definitely “wroth with the woman and… her seed”. But it was not just the devil here. The devil used the kingdoms of this world, his “horns” to try to destroy Jesus “as soon as it was born” (Rev 12:5) The beast at this time was the Roman Kingdom.
The secondary application of the red dragon applied to the Roman Empire when Herod tried to destroy all of the children in Bethlehem. In the book of Matthew we read of Jesus the head of the church, and the dragon offering him the State power to further his cause
Mat 4:8 9 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, andsheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
Jesus, being the seed of the woman, and the head of the church, here is offered the State power, but refused. He representing the church(woman) refused to ride the beast.
Judgment of the Great Whore Babylon
To take the ride, would be to the church “fornication with the kings of the earth”. (Rev 18:3) A church and state union. The church of God, Jerusalem above, the mother of us all, would only refuse this. However, the mother of harlot churches, spoken of in Revelation 17 would accept the power of the dragon.
Rev 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet(red) coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Rev 17:5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
A church and state union, the woman riding the beast with ten horns, the church using the ten horns symbolic of the “kings of the earth” to enforce her beliefs. In fact, this is why she is “judged”. The judgment being “Babylon is fallen”.
Rev 17:1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
It is judged for its use of State power to further its cause. It is judged for fornication with the kings of the earth. The very next verse implies this.
Rev 17:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
And we see that for this reason, the fornication with the kings of the earth, that a loud cry is given. A cry regarding the abominations.
Revelation 18:2-3 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
And the message and cry following this fornication is “come out of her my people” (Rev 18:4)
The Abomination of Desolation
The bible tells us that a woman and a beast together is an “abomination”
Confusion, the root of Babylon. Beastiality, that is the serious sin of the church using state power. What happens to the land when this happens?
Lev 18:27, 28 (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you
The land finally spues out the people we are told. Judgments begin to befall the people of the land when these abominations are commited. Church and State is an abomination.
Another abomination is mentioned just before the woman lying with the beast which I believe America has not only commited, but used the State power to enforce it on the churches.
Lev 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
On June 26, 2015 the supreme court took the biblical sacrament of marriage and redefined it. Same sex marriage was made legal in all 50 states. It should not have been illegal or even in the hands of the State in the first place. The sacrament of marriage is an institution of God and we are to give unto God what is God’s and give unto Caesar what is Caesars. The term Caesar meaning “civil government”.
How did this come to pass? The church cried out to the State to ban homosexual marriage, and the State stepped in and forced the churches to marry homosexuals. This won’t affect the churches who welcome homosexuals to be members. Such as the Catholic Church.
Pope Francis speaking about gay people said in 2013 that “the key is for the church to welcome, not exclude and show mercy, not condemnation.” Pope Francis Fox News Latino, 19 September 2013
Judgments begin to fall on the land. This is where we have come to today. In Revelation 17 we are told of this woman “having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:” (Rev 17:4)
2. Filthiness of her fornicationRevelation 17:6 tells us that due to her fornication the abominations which this cup is full of are “the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus:”
If we consider carefully the fact that she is riding the beast, we can see nothing short of a church and state union. This abomination is so great, that it is “the abomination of desolation” as we shall see. We read that the “ten horns…are ten kings” (Rev 17:12) and that this woman is guilty of “fornication” with these kings. But we also read that it is:
“the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall MAKE HER DESOLATE and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.” (Rev 17:16)
The Church and State is an abomination
Her Union with the State(ten horns) MAKES DESOLATE
Desolate meaning that she is emptied of the spirit of God. And instead of God sitting on the throne, we see the Papacy sitting on the throne of the hearts of these Kings of Babylon. The Papacy is the Roman Catholic Church riding the beast and just as Jerusalem was destroyed with fire, so the same will happen to Babylon.
On September 24th, 2015, the Pope addressed the congress of the United States of America, the governing body that is elected to uphold the constitution of the United States. The goal ultimately being to have the church head over the State.
Some might be thinking that this is not a big deal, some might be thinking of how great this is to bring God back into a godless society. But history tells us why this is a big deal. James Madison, the fourth president of the United States, also known as the Father of the constitution once wrote the following.
“The purpose of separation of church and state is to keep forever from these shores the ceaseless strife that has soaked the soil of Europe in blood for centuries.”- James Madison, 4th president of the United States
The blood of Martyrs during the dark ages of history was immense. Some say that the Papacy, the Roman Catholic Church is responsible for the deaths of up to one hundred and fifty million martyrs. This is not just a few thousand or a small number. This was an abomination that filled the cup.
This is why the ten horns or the kings of the earth fornicating with the woman, making her desolate, is the abomination of desolation. It is this abomination of church and state that fills the cup with the blood
In 1789 the constitution of the United States was signed into law, and the very first amendment of that constitution was “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;”
The congress of the United States is known as the committee that is elected to uphold the constitution of the United States. Freedom spread like fire across the world. The very first amendment of that constitution protects the people from religious intolerance that was manifest during those ages of darkness when the Papacy “reigned over the kings of the earth” (Rev 17:18).
With this history in mind, What in the world is congress doing having the Papacy speak on behalf of the people of the United States?
On September 25th, 2015, the day after addressing the congress of the United States, the Pope was the ring leader of the Sustainable Development Agenda in New York. This agenda, also known as Agenda 21 is an agenda that has to do with global warming and climate control and also has mapped out the United States which the United Nations intend to govern.. A quick google search for “Agenda 21 map” will reveal a red and yellow map of the United States with a few other colors of small areas. This is a foreign government map. The map will limit human access to very tiny areas of the United States where they will gather the people into cities. This is all documented. In 1993, President Bill Clinton, in compliance with Agenda 21, signed Executive Order #12852 to create the President’s Council on Sustainable Development in order to “harmonize” US environmental policy with UN directives as outlined in Agenda 21.
What are some of the goals of this agenda:
“Agenda 21 proposes an array of actions which are intended to be implemented by EVERY person on Earth…it calls for specific changes in the activities of ALL people… Effective execution of Agenda 21 will REQUIRE a profound reorientation of ALL humans, unlike anything the world has ever experienced…” Agenda 21: The Earth Summit Strategy to Save Our Planet (Earthpress, 1993). Emphases – DR
This new map and call will be led by the Kingdom of “Babylon” (Rev 17:5). A call into the cities. But God’s call when you see the abomination of desolation, and her fornication with the kings of the earth is to “Come out of her my people” (Rev 18:4) or “flee”.
On September 24th, 2015 was the Day of Atonement. Otherwise known as “Judgment Day” to the Jews, Yom Kippur. The Pope not only sat in the congress of the United States on that day, the day before his flag was raised at the White House. But furthermore, not only was his flag raised at the white house, but also in New York on September 25th, his flag was raised by the United Nations. A diverse horn or kingdom coming up in the midst of the many kingdoms who are ready to be crowned. (Dan 7:8, Rev 17:12)
The idolatrous Roman standard has been raised in the midst of the hearts of these leaders who are supposed to be protecting our liberty, the armies are surrounding Jerusalem, ready to pounce.
The harlot church, this harlot woman has been given her seat on the beast. These ten horns make her desolate. And there is but one call when we see this sign. FLEE out of her.
Isa_48:20 Go ye forth of Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans, with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye, The LORD hath redeemed his servant Jacob.
Mat 24:16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Those who are truly God’s children, are to flee out of the cities at this time. When we see the judgment of Babylon fornicating with the Kings of the earth, especially with the United States, we are to know and understand that the time has come, that the church is being surrounded by armies, that the Kings of the earth and the heathen are raging round about the bride with her armies, ready to make war with the remnant of her seed. (Psa 2:6, 7, Rev 12:17, 17:14, 16:13, 14)
When we see God’s church surrounded by armies. Laws being made on every side, Obamacare, State forcing gay marriage, vaccinations, forced public schooling, people being imprisoned for growing their own gardens, laws considering those who believe in end time prophecies as terrorists. Then we can see that the armies are surrounding the zion, Jerusalem, the church of the firstborn. (Heb 12:22, 23)
The Pope recently put together an environmental encyclical, he has brought this to the United Nations, and this encyclical has many things to say regarding the god they worship as well as rest. It is prophecied that they will seek Sunday Laws. These things will come to pass shortly. However, it is time to be outside the cities. To flee into the wilderness. (Rev 12:6, 14)
Luke 21:20-22 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
The idolatrous standard has been raised.
Are you standing in the Holy Place with Michael your prince? (Matt 24:15, Dan 12:1) Are you recognizing the sign? That the Roman Standard is being raised in the hearts of the kings of the earth. That they are desolate of the Spirit of God, and that the man of sin, the Pope, is sitting on their hearts, ready for one last round of persecution. That the harlot woman is inspiring the nations to drink of the wine, or shed the blood of the saints.
There are many abominations being done in the church right now. (Ezekiel 8) And there are those who are “sighing and crying at the abominations that be done in the midst thereof” (Eze 9:4) We are to give that loud cry, that cry with a loud voice, “Come out of her my people”, “flee out of the midst”.
Will we “know therefore and understand when we see the sign” or will we be like the “wicked servant” who “knew not the hour” when his master would come? The message is clear “Come out of her my people” (Rev 18:4)
