Recent predictions are being made teaching that in the Spring of 2019 probation will close on Adventists, and furthermore, that a Sunday law will be made at that time. And finally, that in 2022 will be the second coming of the Lord.
This time setting is based on moving the prophetic times of Daniel into the future. I would like to summarize some of the notes I’ve personally seen from the Spirit of Prophecy concerning this issue and the effects that this will have on the people.
- It will destroy and weaken the faith of God’s people.
2. It is what the enemy wants and serves his purpose well.
3. It is confusion, and based on the wine or teachings of Babylon.
4. It creates a “false excitement”
5. Time will never again be a test.
6. The Final Message will not “need time to strengthen it” “is stronger than time”
7. Will stand on its own foundation
8. It MUST NOT BE HUNG ON TIME
“‘Time after time will be set by different ones which will pass by; and the influence of this time-setting will be to destroy the faith of God’s people… and that every time thus set and passed, would only weaken the faith of God’s people…The First-day Adventists have set time after time, and notwithstanding the repeated failures, they have gathered courage to set new times.’” (LS80 221)
In one of the videos it was said that the prophetic dates of the past such as 508 and 1843 were error, and that the pioneers of Adventism were wrong on their understanding of the “daily” happening in 508, and the 1335 days of Daniel 12 ending in 1843. He is proposing to move all the dates to the future. As another side note, one of our brethren who is saying that a Sunday Law will be here in 2019, and that it will be the close of probation on Seventh-day Adventists, also predicted a Sunday law would happen in 2008.
“The time-setters have pronounced the curse of the Lord upon me as an unbeliever who said, My Lord delayeth His coming. But I have told them that the books of heaven would not make my record thus, for the Lord knows that I loved and longed for the appearing of Christ. But their oft-repeated message of definite time was exactly what the enemy wanted….” { 10MR 269.3 } 
As we will come to, this is not a peace and safety message by any means, I am not saying the Lord delayeth his coming at all. In fact, it is possible that Jesus could come before 2022. But notice in this next quote what leads to this date setting.
“They rejected the true prophetic time (historic understanding of 70 weeks, 1260, 1290, 1335, 2300), and the enemy has had power to bring strong delusions upon them that they should believe a lie. I have borne the testimony since the passing of the time in 1844, that there should be no definite time set by which to test God’s people. The great test on time was in 1843 and 1844; and all who have set time since these great periods marked in prophecy were deceiving and being deceived.” { LS80 221.1 }(Brackets added for clarity)
I have noticed that most who move the dates into the future have very little understanding of the historic view of what happened in 508 AD or 1843 AD and so on and how Daniel 12 was a prophecy for those in that time.
Videos Promoting Moving the Prophetic Timeline to the Future
Recent videos have been released taking notice of prophetic events such as what happened in 2015 with the Papacy speaking before the congress of the United States, and as most know who have seen my work, I by no means undermine what happened in 2015, however, they are saying that time periods should be placed on these dates and some are moving all the prophetic times and dates into the future (ie. The 70 weeks, 1260, 1290, 1335, and 2300 days.) Not to mention moving all the beasts in Daniel 7, 8 and so on and re-applying them to different kingdoms. And some are predicting the second coming in 2022. This brings confusion to the people. Right from the beginning of a video predicting the Sunday law in 2019 and the second coming in 2022, there is a disclaimer stating that the historic understanding of the 1335 days from 508-1843 which was held by the pioneers of Adventism was wrong. I’ll come back to this and what it means as we continue. But consider the following.
“Many shall be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand. . . . Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. But go thou (Daniel) thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the end of the days.” ++++ Daniel is TODAY standing in his lot,+++” {AUCR, March 11, 1907 par. 10} {AUCR, March 11, 1907 par. 9}
According to the Spirit of prophecy the book of Daniel was unsealed, and Daniel is and has been standing in his lot since the end of the 1335 days. Which is past. There was an understanding that no future application of the 1260, 1290 and 1335 days was to be made, which are all mentioned in Daniel 12.
Dan 12:12-13 Blessed is he that waiteth, and ***cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days.*** But go thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and ***stand in thy lot at the end of the days.***
Daniel was “standing in his lot” at the end of the 1335 days.(1843) And she says in 1907 “Daniel TODAY is standing in his lot.” This implies that the 1335 was past. In fact, Ellen White even rebuked someone who moved the 1335 days of Daniel 12 to the future and said he was in “error”.
“We told him [Brother H] of some of his errors in the past, that the 1335 days were ended, and numerous [other] errors of his.”—Ellen White Letter 28, 1850 For those who are moving the dates to the future, the question should be asked: 1. Is the book of Daniel unsealed? (Dan 12:4, 9) 2. Is Daniel standing in his lot? (Dan 12:13)
Mrs. White and James White were correcting a brother who was moving the prophetic dates to the future explaining that this was error.
These dates 1260, 1290, 1335 are not going to be repeated. Neither is the 70th week as we will note in the next quote. Neither is there a Sunday law or a close of probation on Adventists in the midst of this prophetic week because this 70th prophetic week has already passed since A.D 34. Neither does Jesus come at the end of the prophetic week. And those who are saying that 2019 is the middle of the week, and 2022 is the second coming are in confusion and error and misapplying prophecy.
Am I saying that no Sunday law can be made in 2019, or that the second coming can’t happen in 2022? No, but I will not “time set”, especially based on moving the prophetic times or periods into the future. The third angels message is “stronger than time” and “can stand on its own foundation” and “does not need time to strengthen it” as we will come to.
“This time, which the Angel (in Revelation 10) declares with a solemn oath, is not the end of this world’s history, neither of probationary time, but OF PROPHETIC TIME, which would precede the advent of our Lord. That is, ******THE PEOPLE WILL NOT HAVE ANOTHER MESSAGE UPON DEFINITE TIME.******* After this period of time, reaching from 1842 to 1844, there can be no definite tracing of the prophetic time. The longest reckoning reaches to the autumn of 1844. {CTr 344.5}
There are many more quotes like this in the Spirit of Prophecy, but this quote is referring to the time prophecies of Daniel, including the 2300, which is the longest of the 70 weeks, 1260, 1290, 1335, and reached down to 1844. WINE OF BABYLON – MOVING THE PROPHETIC DATES
Moving the 70th week of Daniel to the future is the basis of Babylonian prophecy, and we will look at this below. Moving the 70th week of Daniel to the future is the basis of the secret rapture, left behind, and a 7 year tribulation. But furthermore, it is also the basis of the recent time setting that people have been doing with respect to 2019 and 2022. Remember “******THE PEOPLE WILL NOT HAVE ANOTHER MESSAGE UPON DEFINITE TIME.*******”
I understand that some who are teaching this, as well as those who are being deceived may be sincere, however, we must take notice where these prophetic teachings are coming from.
Vomit upon the Tables From Babylonian Drunkeness – The Time Charts
“As early as 1842 the direction given in this prophecy to “write the vision, and make it plain upon TABLES, that he may run that readeth it,” had suggested to Charles Fitch the preparation of a prophetic chart to illustrate the visions of Daniel and the Revelation. The publication of this chart was regarded as a fulfillment of the command given by Habakkuk.” (Great Controversy Page 392)
These two charts or “TABLES” had the 1260, 1290, and 1335 day prophecies written on them, as well as the 70 weeks, and 2300 days. They were called in the vision of Habbakuk “TABLES”. Consider the words of Isaiah:
Isa 28:7-9 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. For all TABLES are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean. Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand DOCTRINE?….
What Isaiah is saying, is that people are erring with respect to their understanding of prophecy. And if those tables are the same tables mentioned by the prophet Habbukuk, and they are filthy with VOMIT, then how can you see the prophetic dates? If you are moving the prophetic dates you are swallowing the wine of Babylon, and too much of it is causing some to vomit all over those tables and dates on those tables or charts.
Lamentation 2:9 Her gates are sunk into the ground; he hath destroyed and broken her bars: her king and her princes are among the Gentiles: the law is no more; her prophets also find no vision from the LORD.
Notice furthermore what Isaiah said concerning this drunkeness.
Isa 29:9-11 Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink. For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
You see the book of Daniel is UNSEALED since 1844 we have understood the time prophecies. But when we go to the churches of Babylon, they cannot understand these prophecies. It is still sealed to them. The Revelation is not understood by them. This is what is happening, and Daniel 12 clearly tells us that at the end of the 1335 the book of Daniel would be unsealed, and they were “blessed” when they read and UNDERSTOOD the book.
But this is not so in Babylon, nor is it so with those moving the dates into the future. Daniel said regarding the unsealing of his book and those dates “the wicked shall not understand” but “the wise shall understand.” (Daniel 12:10) Jesus said to “understand.” (Matt 24:15) But most today have failed to “understand.”
Ephesians 4:8-13 says that the gifts are given so that we might not be “tossed to and from with every wind of DOCTRINE.” The Spirit or rain falls as DOCTRINE. (Deu 33:2) Isaiah is asking “whom shall he make to understand DOCTRINE?” (Isa 28:9)
We cannot come to the defence of these prophetic messengers, because they are feeding the sheep false doctrine. This is the “hellish torch of false prophecy” and we are to see and understand when it comes, else we shall be counted among the “wicked” (Dan 12:10) Sometimes we are to be “a watchmen on the wall” rather than a “dumb dog that won’t bark.” (Isa 56:10)
We could have been or could be in the kingdom within the next 2 years from 1892 onward according to the following quote. This is a quote that talks about the time of the loud cry, and the time of trouble happening within a time period of 2 years. And notice there is no possibility of fitting 3.5 years, or 7 years within that time period.
“I saw that Jones and Waggoner had their counterpart in Joshua and Caleb. As the children of Israel stoned the spies with literal stones, you have stoned these brethren with stones of sarcasm and ridicule. I saw that you willfully rejected what you knew to be truth, just because it was too humiliating to your dignity. I saw some of you in your tents mimicking and making all manner of fun of these two brethren. I also saw that ****if you had accepted their message, we would have been in the kingdom two years from that date,***” GCB May 9, 1892 (Melbourne, Australia).
If this was possible, and no Sunday law was made at the time of this testimony in 1892, how does this fit someone who is promoting Jesus’ second coming 3.5 years after a Sunday law? You see, there is no 3.5 year time period in the future.
The “evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;” (Matt 24:48)
Jesus could be here in less than 2 years. Things are happening quickly. Notice carefully in this next quote what people were doing with the “daily” mentioned in Daniel 12:11-13 and the time prophecies associated with it. Moving the Daily from 508
“I have seen that the 1843 chart was directed by the hand of the Lord, and that it should not be altered; that the figures were as He wanted them; that His hand was over and hid a mistake in some of the figures, so that none could see it, until His hand was removed… When union existed, before 1844, nearly all were united on the correct view of the “daily”; but in the confusion since 1844, other views have been embraced, and darkness and confusion have followed. Time has not been a test since 1844, and it will never again be a test. The Lord has shown me that the message of the third angel must go, and be proclaimed to the scattered children of the Lord, but it must not be hung on time. I saw that some were getting a false excitement, arising from preaching time; but the third angel’s message is stronger than time can be. I saw that this message can stand on its own foundation and needs not time to strengthen it; and that it will go in mighty power, and do its work, and will be cut short in righteousness.” {Early Writings 75.1}
What were the views in respect to the “daily” in Daniel 12 that were being brought into confusion? It was in respect to when it occurred. Time. The time 508 A.D. Some however have said it had to do with just what the daily was, but some of the pioneers were arguing about this point after 1900 and she said the following:
“I now ask that my ministering brethren shall not make use of my writings in their arguments regarding this question [“the daily”]; for I have had no instruction on the point under discussion, and I see no need for the controversy.” (1SM 164)
The real issue was the times concerning the daily, not just what the daily was. She had no instruction as to what the “daily” was, and was asking brethren not to use her writings to prove their point on what it was. Sadly some are still trying to do this today. So what did Ellen say the pioneers had the “correct view” on regarding the “daily” of Daniel 12:11? The date of the daily and when it occurred. The context has to do with the charts and time setting. And that those who were moving these dates to the future, were bringing in confusion.
Dan 12:11-12 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away,(508AD) and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.(1798 AD) Blessed is he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty days. (1843 AD) (Brackets added for clarity)
Those dates were correct, and some are moving them to the future. The gifts are given so that we might prophecy, some are basing this on dreams, however, if the dreamer is undermining the prophets of old, what then? The Bible is clear, it’s not a gift from God. Time is short, but these messages as we have seen are not in God’s order. They are not of God. They bring in confusion, they cast doubt upon the testimonies, they bring in false excitement, and they normally come from those who have failed to understand the prophetic history.
“Jesus has told his disciples to “watch,” but not for definite time… You will not be able to say that he will come in one, two, or five years, neither are you to put off his coming by stating that it may not be for ten or twenty years.” { RH March 22, 1892, par. 10 }
You see, regarding the sacrifice of Christ we are told “These types were fulfilled, not only as to the event, but as to the time. On the fourteenth day of the first Jewish month...In like manner the types which relate to the Second Advent must be fulfilled at the time pointed out in the symbolic service.” (Great Controversy Page 399)
BUT, this is not to say that we have a message to give when we see the second coming, probation will have been closed by that time, and there is nothing for us to give to anyone. There is no MESSAGE to be given based on a future application of the prophecies of Daniel.
